Grand Hotel Oslo announces renovation plan

Grand Hotel Oslo, which opened in 1874 in the Norwegian capital, will undertake a comprehensive renovation programme throughout 2016.

Work to the 292-room property, located on Karl Johans Gate, Oslo's main thoroughfare, will include the updating of rooms and the creation of what the hotel terms a 'unique Nordic luxury' environment.

The hotel has 19 event spaces, with a conference centre catering for meetings for between four to 110 people and banquet halls accommodating more than 300, alongside a spa and fitness centre. 

Pandox Operations took over the running of the hotel earlier this year.
