New Paris Convention Centre to open in 2017

The new 72,000sqm Paris Convention centre will open in the French capital in 2017.

The centre, which is part of a project to modernise Paris expo Porte de Versailles, will be a key venue for international business travellers, accommodating some of the world’s largest conferences.

Michel Dessolain, chief executive of Viparis, said: "The possibilities provided by the structure's 72,000sqm – including a main conference room capable of accommodating up to 5,200 people that is directly connected to 44,000sqm of exhibition space – will make the Paris Convention Centre the largest such space in Europe, able to meet the needs of the most demanding conferences."

Located just 15 minutes from the Eiffel Tower, the project will see £358m in private investment to renovate more than 60% of the existing space, including its outdoor spaces.
