Event professionals from nine agencies, including BI Worldwide, Reed & Mackay, Zibrant, Principal Global Events, American Express, CMM Events, Penguins, Egencia and Glow visited the Punta Cana area of the island, spending two nights at the Melia Caribe Tropical and a further two at the Paradisus Palma Real resorts.

They also visited the Paradisus Punta Cana hotel, enjoying an alfresco lunch on the property’s extensive lawns and visiting the resort’s Mangrove, a natural reserve of Dominican flora and fauna.

The group also spent an afternoon sailing on a pirate ship, a tour organised by Ocean Adventures, viewing sting rays and sharks in an enclosure in the middle of the sea. On the last full day of the fam (Sunday), the group enjoyed an excursion to Sanoa Island, departing by speedboat with a stop at a large sand bank for drinks and views of indigenous starfish.

The rest of the day was spent on Sanoa Island, where groups spent time on a beach lined with palm trees, enjoying a traditional Dominican barbecue lunch and massages, before travelling back towards Punta Cana on a catamaran with live entertainment.

In the evening, the group visited the downtown area of Punta Cana, with a live show of Latin and international music at Coco Bongo. On Monday evening (26 October), the group departed to London with an Air Europa flight via Madrid.
