Abu Dhabi: new C&I options for groups

With guest arrivals into Abu Dhabi up by 17% during the first six months of this year, compared to 2014, the emirate's incentive options and number of hotels are on the rise. C&IT highlights several ideas for groups.

Dinner cruises from Yas Marina: A two-hour dinner cruise operating out of Yas Marina has launched and is available for private group hire, parties and corporate events. The 70-passenger Khaleesi offers an international buffet dinner with tea, coffee, water and soft drinks, and passes by sights including Yas Island’s beaches, hotels and landmarks, including Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.

New golf tourism drive: TCA Abu Dhabi has set out an ambitious golf tourism drive to strengthen the UAE capital’s standing as a world-class golfing destination by targeting expanding golf markets. Europe, in particular, has been identified as a region with huge growth potential. Golf courses include the Gary Player-designed Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, the first ocean course in the region.

Rollercoaster ride: The world’s largest indoor theme park, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, which is already home to the world’s fastest rollercoaster, Formula Rossa, has announced plans to open another record-breaking ride. The new ‘Flying Aces’ ride will not only be the steepest steel rollercoaster in the world, with a 51-degree incline, but will also boast the world’s tallest loop, at 52 metres (170 feet).

Four Seasons Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi’s first Four Seasons hotel is set to open in 2016. Being built next to the upmarket Galleria shopping mall on Al Maryah Island, the 34-floor hotel will feature 190 rooms and 54 serviced apartments, 1,290sqm of meeting and conference facilities, a rooftop pool and a 300sqm garden.

Jumeirah Saadiyat Island Resort: Set in a prime location on the north-eastern coast of Saadiyat Island, the five-star Jumeirah Saadiyat Island Resort is expected to open in 2017 and will comprise 294 guest rooms, including spa suites, presidential suites and private high-end villas.
