Zurich: options for the winter season

With Christmas just around the corner, C&IT checks out various festive-themed options for incentives and events in the Swiss city of Zurich.

Live on ice: The ice rink in Küsnacht by Lake Zurich, by the Romantik Seehotel Sonne, has several options for meetings and events, including skating and the chance to try some mulled wine or champagne and a meal in one of the venue's restaurants or banqueting rooms.

Winter party: Ice carving workshops, walks by torchlight and a Christmas dinner, which caters for up to 2,000 guests, are on offer at the Advetnure Farm in Seegraben. The venue also offers space for conferences.

Kreativ Christmas game: Groups can check out areas including the Old Town, the Bahnhofstrasse, the Limmat Quay and Lake Zurich, all of which are transformed at Christmas time, with a teambuilding activity. In teams of five, groups are encouraged to get to know the city and its ties to the Christmas season, followed by dinner.

Hike with flaming torches: Up to 80 people can take part in a hike lit with flaming torches through the idyllic landscape of Zurich-Forch, tasting local specialities such as hot mulled wine along the route. Afterwards, groups can either opt for a Chinese fondue or a traditional Christmas veal offal menu.
