According to ANA, which manages the airport in Faro, three new winter routes will open from Faro, including one to Wales, with the other two targeting Germany and Switzerland.
The three new routes will begin on 25 October and last until 31 March and will have two weekly frequencies each. The route from Faro Airport to Wales will be to Cardiff, operated by Flybe.
One or two additional flights per week to London and Birmingham are also planned from airlines including British Airways and Monarch.
The ANA said is a statement that strengthening winter air connections to northern Europe will help to minimise the Algarve 'seasonality effect'.
