Agency rapiergroup delivers Sibos conference

Agency rapiergroup has delivered the annual Sibos conference for 8,200 delegates, at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore.

The agency was responsible for the exhibition management of the banking convention, which took place from 12-15 October. This year Sibos had the highest number of attendees ever in Asia and the second highest around the world, with 8,200 delegates.

"We are responsible for the exhibition show management, which involves all the signage around the event, the creative look for the event, and all infrastructure build, from the registration areas and subcontractor village to the open theatres and networking lounges," group managing director at rapiergroup, Helen Seaman, told C&IT. "We have to manage the 200 exhibitors, approve all their stand drawings and liase with contractors for all of their services. We also designed and built the Swift stand, Standards Forum and Innotribe stand."

As the official show management company, the agency built a further 14 stands for other companies attending the event.

In addition to the exhibition delivery, the rapiergroup team added their own personal touches to the event. "We did a fitbit challenge recording how many steps we did each day. The winner of each day got to choose a charity to donate money to," said Seaman. "We are still collating the scores but one of the team I know walked 99 miles in one week, around the building! Our company strapline is ‘get people talking’. We should change this to ‘get people walking’!"

The next Sibos event will run in Geneva in September 2016.
