BNP Paribas head of events joins EMA council

Kate Macey, UK head of events and sponsorship at BNP Paribas, has joined the Event Marketing Association (EMA) as a new council member, amid 'steady' growth for the group.

The EMA has recently welcomed members from six new companies, including BNP Paribas, Credit Agricole, British Airways, Black Rock, Browne Jacobson and AECOM.

The not-for-profit event industry association for in-house corporate planners now has more than 250 members in London, from a wide range of industries including finance, law, consultancy, oil and gas, government, charities, travel and construction.

Macey will lead the membership sub-committee and oversee both national membership growth strategy and member value proposition.

Richard Waddington, chair of EMA, said: "It’s great to see our membership continue to steadily grow and the enthusiasm we’re met with when talking to people outside of London about starting regional chapters, the great thing is the infrastructure is in place as such it’s fairly simple to roll out the model."

EMA officially launched the EMA North Chapter at The recent Venue Expo Liverpool, with the first event to be held in November.
