Construction begins on Bedford hotel in Belfast

Work on the £13m Bedford Hotel project in Belfast, located on the former site of the Scottish Mutual building, has started.

The Ballymena–based Hill family, which owns the Galgorm Resort & Spa, is behind the project.

Plans for the 70-room property include two restaurants, one aimed at those not staying in the property and a banqueting hall.

The Galgorm Resort and Spa, located in Co Antrim, unveiled a £10m refurbishment and extension to the property at the end of September, which has seen the creation of a spa village and the addition of 48 rooms.
