In her new role, Gent will work to enhance Malmaison & Hotel Du Vin's profile in the meetings and events industry.

Gent told C&IT: "Having spent more than 13 years with Carlson Rezidor, it had to be something special to entice me away. The opportunity with Malmaison and Hotel Du Vin was exactly that. There are exciting developments in the pipeline and through the new ownership with Frasers Hospitality, we have a new worldwide reach.

"I look forward to using my extensive experience in the meetings and events sector to really put our hotels firmly on the map for this specialist line of business."

Gent joined Carlson Rezidor as director of MICE sales in 2002, having also worked with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and Lonsdale Travel.
