Moscow Convention Bureau appoints new head

Olga Moiseyeva has been appointed as the new Director General of Moscow's convention bureau.

Moiseyeva was the former head of the ‘Open Innovations’ Foundation as well as of a number of major international meetings both in Moscow and abroad, including Rusnanotech Forum 2011 (Moscow), EXPO 2010 (China) and Russia-Japan Investment Forum 2007 (Japan).

Ksenya Boykova, the founder and former head of the Moscow Convention Bureau, said: "A big thank you goes to my team, those who started the Moscow Convention Bureau from scratch and turned it into the crucial project it is now. We led a pioneering campaign of presenting and promoting the advantages of Moscow as an excellent meetings destination to the world. Over a period of two years we succeeded in introducing Moscow to the global meetings industry community."

She added that the Bureau has launched 'dozens of bidding campaigns' to attract major international meetings to Moscow, as well as the  ‘international meeting management’ educational programme, launched in collaboration with the city’s universities and colleges.

Among the new priorities of the Moscow Convention Bureau are the demonstration of Moscow’s industrial potential and the promotion of the city’s science parks and areas of innovation as convention facilities.
