Hoxton Hotels opened its first property outside of London this week (13 July), in the Dutch city of Amsterdam. The 111-room property is home to a unique meeting space, The Apartment, which comprises five rooms and a central pantry, which can be used as a bar or private dining venue.

FRHI Hotels & Resorts held its fifth Global Meeting Exchange in Monte Carlo last weekend (9-12 July). A group of 110 event planners from the UK, Europe, the UAE, Asia and the US attended the event, which took place over four days at the Fairmont Monte Carlo. Activities included a reception at Nikki Beach, treasure hunt, gala dinner, car rally and speed boat ride.

Venue-booking website Hire Space held a summer party showcase for meeting and event buyers on Tuesday (14 July) at The Tower of London’s New Armouries Banqueting Suite. Around 107 meeting and event buyers attended, from companies including Burberry, PWC, Accenture, Vodafone, Apple and Talk Talk. Guests were treated to mozzarella & basil panna cotta, butternut squash gnocchi and Cornish crab salad and elderflower gin cocktails.

More than 120 corporate clients and events professionals gathered for the Pure Events summer party on Wednesday (15 July) at Park Tower, Knightsbridge. Guests enjoyed canapés, cocktails and entertainment from all-female DJ group, Superfoxx.
