This is according to a report in daily Russian newspaper Kommersant, which says the hotel will have 150 rooms alongside restaurants and commercial space. It added that the design of the 54,000-square meter hotel was submitted to Moscow authorities.
The space where the hotel will be located has been vacant since the demolition of Hotel Rossiya in 2007. Mandarin Oriental had previously announced it would manage a hotel in Moscow by 2011, but the project was shelved.
The hotel operator's latest proposed openings include properties in Dubai and Chengdu.
