Wilson worked for a number of years at George P Johnson, as well as holding senior positions at BSI Meetings and Events and Olive360.

Mark Riches, managing director of the London office, said: "We are delighted to welcome one of the most experienced and respected event professionals to our team. The hire of Emma builds on our constant drive to invest in our people, our team, and offer a best in class service to our clients."

Wilson added: "First Protocol are in a very exciting place right now and I am thrilled to be joining such a talented and driven team. It’s a great opportunity to be part of their future plans and to help continue the growth and success of the business."

In March, First Protocol has won a Gold award in its latest assessment by Investors in People (IIP), and Riches is leading the industry's push to set up a new event management apprenticeship standard through the government's Trailblaizer's scheme.
