Representatives from Chambers Travel Group headed to Manchester for the company’s annual summer conference last weekend (13-14 June). Some 235 employees attended the two-day event at the Mecure Hotel, which included a mix of business sessions and entertainment. Following meetings, delegates celebrated with a 1920's themed comedy club night.

On Tuesday (16 June) the Event Marketing Association (EMA) hosted a summer soirée for more than 200 event professionals. The event was held in The Magazine Restaurant, London, which is adjacent to The Serpentine Gallery. Tours of the gallery were followed with networking, drinks and canapés.

More than 150 event professionals gathered at the Brewery, London on Wednesday (17 June), for an event hosted by Cvent. The company announced the launch of its latest event sector technologies, including the Hospitality Cloud, which is set to provide event venue owners with management software and marketing solutions to meet demand in the market.

Also on Wednesday, C&IT dusted off its clubs and joined travel trade professionals at the Explore Minnesota VIP Golf Day at Walton Heath, Surrey. The US state's UK event was used to promote next year's Ryder Cup, which will be held at Hazeltine National Golf Club in October.
