The hotel, which will open in 2018 and feature a 2,500 square metre conference centre, will operate under a management agreement with Crédit Agricole Assurances and be developed by Eiffage.
Converted from Lyon’s former Hôtel Dieu, one of the oldest hospitals in France, the listed building will also feature a 500 square metre ballroom that can seat 370, as well as nine meeting rooms. Additional amenities will include a restaurant, lounge bar and large fitness centre.
Willemijn Geels, associate vice president of development, Northern and Eastern Europe for IHG said the expansion would cement the company’s position as a leader in the international hotel market.
