Gainsborough Bath Spa hotel to open in July

The Gainsborough Bath Spa, the first hotel with access to Bath's natural thermal waters, will open on 1 July.

The 99-bedroom Gainsborough Bath Spa in the city of Bath will boast its own private 47 degrees centigrade water reserve.

Guests will be able to enjoy a one-hour Bath Circuit in the hotel's Roman-themed spa, taking in three thermal pools, saunas, steam room, an ice alcove and relaxation rooms.

An exclusive Spa Suite and two further spa rooms will also offer in-bath access to the thermal waters via a second tap, giving guests the choice of bathing in thermal water in their own room.

The hotel's meeting and event facilities will include the 92sqm Chapel overlooking the thermal spa pool, the ground floor Somerset Room, accommodating up to 70 for a dinner, and the quitessentially British-designed Canvas Room.

Other facilities include a bar and a restaurant by renowned Austrian chef, Johann Lafer - his first venture outside of Germany.
