Derby-based ACE Bookings won the contract in a tender process against five other agencies. The agency will be responsible for sourcing venues for between 60 to 80 of the company’s events each year at locations throughout the East Midlands area, including Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and Northamptonshire.

Joanne Wilson, ACE Bookings' managing director, told C&IT she was "very pleased" with the win.

"It’s great news because it’s the first time I’ve tendered for any business, most of my business has come through recommendation in the past," said Wilson.

"We’re a small agency so it’s nice they chose us over what were probably larger ones, I think they like the fact that we’re quite small and can offer a personal service. It’s fantastic news for us."

Wilson set up ACE Bookings in 2013 after leaving Zibrant, where she worked as a senior consultant.
