Scheduled to open in 2017, the resort will be Nobu's first in Mexico and its ninth globally.

It will feature event and meeting space, a spa, retail stores, and a choice of dining and lounging options.

The rooms and suites will be designed using natural materials, inspired by the hotel's beach location.

A signature Nobu restaurant and bar will be located on the beachfront overlooking the Pacific Ocean and delivering the famed Nobu experience.

Trevor Horwell, chief executive of Nobu Hospitality, said: "The Nobu Hotel Los Cabos will represent a new and differentiated luxury product, which will be unique for both Los Cabos and the wider resort community.

"Los Cabos continues to be a destination of choice for the luxury traveller and this resort will embody our commitment to create a property that intertwines fun and luxury, and to offer guests from around the world a unique and exciting experience."

The hotel will be the second joint property between Nobu Hospitality and RCD Resorts following the announcement of the Nobu Hotel Eden Roc Miami Beach.

Nobu Hospitality is a private company owned by chef Nobu, Robert DeNiro and Meir Teper.
