Hearing-aid specialist Amplifon's All Employee Conference, which is held on a yearly basis, is seen as an opportunity for staff to celebrate the previous 12 months and to look ahead to the company's plans for the following year. After a successful event at Center Parcs, Sherwood Forest in early 2014, Amplifon needed a venue that could accommodate potentially more than 350 people for a day of presentations, workshops and a gala dinner, as well as host a teambuilding programme. All guests needed accommodation on site. Amplifon particularly liked the modern facilities at Center Parcs, Woburn Forest, and the amount of conference space available.
Getting all 367 delegates to the event was a logistical challenge, as not all delegates were able to drive. The other problem was that the conference took up the entire venue, which left limited room for the workshops.
The event teams at Amplifon and Inception Events arranged train travel for delegates to Flitwick and Milton Keynes, with mini bus and taxi transfers on arrival.
The workshops were held in the venue's Sports Zone, Aerobics Studio and one of the restaurants, affording ample space for delegates.
"We liked the newness of Woburn from an accommodation and conference facility point of view, especially as it offered more conference space than our previous venue Sherwood Forest," says Steve Fleming, CEO UK & Ireland, Amplifon. "Also, having a good space in the reception area meant that our suppliers could attend and demonstrate their products and interact with our staff."
