MCI first launched its services in Turkey a year ago when it acquired Ankara-based 3Events, a start-up focused on corporate and association event management.

3Events co-founder Ufuk Yavus Tumer will head up the new offive in Istanbul, which will focus on developing business in the corporate meetings, events and incentives and DMC markets.

Tumer said: "By reinforcing our presence in Turkey with the strategic location of Istanbul, we will help many more local and international clients deliver inspiring events, incentives and congresses in this magical meeting place of East and West."

The announcement comes after a spate of international expansion for MCI, which saw it merge with US-based agency Coulter Companies in March, and acquire two event agencies in Brazil in February.
