Cardiff dining experience targets events

The first Food Exploration Destination (FeD) restaurant, which offers guests a new dining experience, combining a buffet with a casual dining concept, has opened in Cardiff following a £2m investment.

The 13,000 sqft, two-storey restaurant, located at the rear of the St David's Shopping Centre, can serve up to 300 diners at one time. Its top-floor mezzanine area can serve up to 50 covers and is available for private hire. There are a range of dining options available as part of private dining bookings.

Guests can visit the restaurant’s live kitchens themselves to make their selections, or can use FeD’s "Chef’s Table" experience, where they select from an extensive set menu of dishes which are delivered to the table. 

There is also a separate service bar upstairs, available for exclusive use for those hosting private dinners. Diners are able to choose from hundreds of dishes from an extensive selection of world cuisines including Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Indian, and Tex Mex , as well as classic dishes at the Carvery and Grill.

The restaurant's owners have plans to expand the concept to Scotland and the Midlands.
