Ashfield has provided event management support to Astellas Europe since 2003 and organised almost 200 events of its events in 2014. The contract extension will be delivered by a dedicated team at Ashfied that will provide full service event management and venue sourcing.

Ashfield will also act as a consultant to Astellas as the company implements its new strategic meetings management programme to deliver enhanced healthcare professional reporting capabilities. This will involve the integration of software systems and tools to capture data across its global network of affiliates.

Nicky Simpson, associate director of Congress & Events at Astellas Pharma Europe, said: "The team at Ashfield have supported the Astellas account for over ten years now. I am delighted that the contract has been renewed. We are a growing company and the Ashfield team have grown with us because they are dedicated and responsive, committed and professional.

"Ashfield provide us with an unrivalled level of support not only at an operational delivery level but also with our strategic meetings management. They have helped us shape the way Astellas do business and how we have successfully adapted our working practices to meet new industry challenges."

Nicola Burns, global managing director at Ashfield, said: "We are delighted to continue our long-standing, successful strategic partnership as the sole event management supplier to Astellas EMEA. With a dedicated team to manage their business we see ourselves as an extension of their internal team. We look forward to working closely with them as they continue their vision to become category leaders in their therapeutic areas."
