The £45m project will also see the addition of 900 underground parking spaces. The entire expansion and renovation will be completed in January 2016.

The new expansion will allow Mandalay Bay to accommodate growing tradeshows in its exhibition space, which will total 274,320sqm in size. The new, carpeted ballroom space will also allow for more events for corporate groups and associations.

Stephanie Glanzer, vice president of sales for Mandalay Bay, said: "With business volume increasing, this change provides us with more flexibility to host a wider variety of groups.

"Whether hosting a small corporate group, mid-size association or large tradeshow, each group will have their own dedicated area within our convention center, along with a dedicated team to assist in every detail."
