Battley, who left BI Worldwide in January after three years in the role, will now take up the position of account director.

Battley said: "I’m thoroughly looking forward to joining Grass Roots, a company with an outstanding reputation and one that I have long admired.

"I firmly believe I can utilise my knowledge and skills within the global account management arena and contribute to the growth and success of a business which is clearly set for an exciting future."

Kevin Robinson, client services director at Grass Roots Meetings & Events added: "David is highly regarded in the industry and brings a wealth of senior-level experience, both operationally and at a relationship management level.

"David's appointment supports our growth ambitions and further strengthens our account management team to deliver to the highest standards."

Battley will be joined by former Google head of network operators Simon Mitchell, who joined Grass Roots earlier this week as account director.
