Saxby started in the events industry in 2005 and was formerly sales and marketing director of Universal WorldEvents, now Ashfield Meetings & Events, and a former chairman of industry association Eventia.

C2events founder, Cheryl Clarke, said: "Mark and I just missed working together at WorldEvents before I left to set up C2events. I had heard a great deal of positive things about him from former colleagues. He has a great reputation and has achieved a lot in the industry and it is a real coup for us that he has decided to come on board."

Saxby said: "I am thrilled to have joined C2events and it is great to be back in the industry. C2events is a buzzing small agency with a great team doing excellent work for some long-standing clients. Many of the team have previously worked for WorldEvents so it feels familiar in a number of positive ways - not least there is a great atmosphere and culture."

C2events will also launch its new website today.
