The award acknowledges a commitment to employees in ‘continuous improvement through learning and development’. The gold accreditation follows six years of First Protocol adhering to IIP, having achieved the first standard in 2009 and Silver in 2012.

Mark Riches, First Protocol managing director, said that there are only a handful of event companies with IIP Gold accreditation.

"Not only is it very prestigious – you have to achieve 166 standards to be awarded Gold – but it’s a brilliant reflection of our commitment to our people and putting people first.

"The best thing about being recognised as an IIP Gold company is that it motivates us to make further investments in our people and workplace and our next goal is to be recognised as a Times top 100 places to work."
