Last Friday (13 March), event planners from agencies including Shore Events, River Marketing, TMB Marketing and Communications, BI Worldwide, Inception Global, Adding Value and CMM, carried out a site inspection at Lapland Hotel Saaga in Yllas, before heading to the Snow Village for a tour of the Snow Hotel. The group also visited a reindeer farm at Levi Lapp Village, with a brief stop for lunch, before enjoying a scenic reindeer ride through the forest.

In the afternoon, Lapland Safaris led a two-hour snowmobile safari back to Levi, with the group traversing snow-filled plains, with a brief stop at Tuikku, a panoramic restaurant 400 metres above sea level, which can host up to 180 for dinner, to experience après ski Finnish-style.

In the evening, the group enjoyed dinner at Saamen Kammi, a traditional Sami restaurant located halfway underground in a kammi (earth lodge), feasting on local specialities including fish soup, salmon cooked on an open fire, a reindeer stew and a dessert of Lappish cheese and cloudberry. The evening was rounded off with views of the Northern Lights.

On the following day (Saturday), planners departed on an early morning flight from Kittila to Helsinki. They were given a whistle-stop tour of the city with a teambuilding treasure hunt organised by The Travel Experience DMC, including stops at Uspenski Cathedral, Helsinki Cathedral, Esplanade Park and the Old Market Hall. The winners were announced at the Klaus K Hotel, Finland's first Design Hotel followed by lunch at Kappeli restaurant before the flight back to London.
