MotivAction entered into a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) in February last year to clear debt, before its purchase by MTravel Solutions in October. The companies can no longer use the MotivAction name, resulting in the change to DBKOFish Events.

The purchase follows a difficult year for the agency, in which David Buxton stepped down as managing director and it moved back to its former premises after 12 months to cut costs after its expansion plans failed.

In July 2013, Motivaction's end-of-year financial results revealed a 19% decrease in profit.
