The waterfront venue, home to BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, welcomed more than 700 global TV buyers over four days.

Hall two of the convention centre was transformed to house 600 specially constructed 'digi' booths for delegates to screen British television content throughout the day.

Highlights included a star-studded dinner held in the arena with celebrities including Michelle Keegan, Russell Tovey, Kris Marshall and John Bishop.

Entertainment was provided by John Cleese, David Hasselhoff, Paolo Nutini and the Backstreet Boys as guests dined on a menu which included pan roast rump of Welsh mountain lamb and a dark chocolate disco ball dessert, all provided by the venue’s caterers Centerplate.

A candlelit dinner was held at Liverpool Cathedral, themed around the drama Wolf Hall, the following evening which was attended by actor Jonathan Pryce who plays Cardinal Wolsey in the BBC Two show.

Bob Prattey, chief executive of ACC Liverpool, said: "Every year we are impressed with how the BBC Worldwide team transform our venue and this year was no exception – the arena and convention centre looked spectacular, which is fantastic when there are so many delegates visiting from all over the world for this event."
