Continuum attractions, the York-based company behind the Coronation Street The Tour visitor attraction in Manchester, confirmed that it has agreed an extension well into 2015 with ITV, Manchester City Council and future developers of the site, Allied London.
More than 250,000 people have already visited since the tour opened in April 2014, with over 10,000 people a week estimated to continue to visit following the extension. The Tour was originally expected to open for six months only, but received an extension last year, prior to this latest one.
Coronation Street The Tour offers visitors the unique opportunity to go behind the scenes of the soap, to see the dressing rooms and selected interiors and even stop for a photo in the Rovers Return. The package is available for corporate functions.
Allied London plans to transform the site into a media and innovation hub.
