The ME Barcelona will have 173 rooms and will be constructed as part of a new development in the city centre. The construction will see the former Hotel Barcelona demolished and a15-storey building created, which will also feature a car park and retail outlets.

The hotel will be typical of the brand and will have a number of business and social areas, as well as the latest technology. There will also be a choice of ‘innovative’ dining options available.

Meliá recently announced plans to open hotels in both Glasgow and Birmingham, and will also open in Dubai in 2016.
