Event Marketing Solutions expands board after record start to 2015

Event Marketing Solutions (EMS) has promoted Nic Whelan to its board and made a number of promotions after securing £3.2m worth of new contracts.

Whelan has been appointed as business development director and will lead the company’s development strategy as a member of its board.

He has worked with EMS for 13 years developing roadshows for Barclays, Warner Bros and Allianz. In his new role he will oversee the sales and marketing division and provide support for the global growth of the business.

EMS has also promoted Gemma Edney to head of client services. Edney has been with the company for ten years and previously worked as account director.

Laura Nash, who was previously senior account manager, has been promoted to the role of account director.

Keith Austin, CEO at EMS, said: "As we start the year with our strongest financial performance in our history, I’m delighted to welcome Nic to our board. He has contributed significantly to our success over the years and his knowledge of the industry and strategic approach to new business will be vital in us achieving our demanding targets as we move forward. Nic’s appointment means that I will be able to devote more time to developing our global network."
