Rapiergroup appoints senior account director

Events agency Rapiergroup has appointed former Mayridge Group director Jon Powell as senior account director.

Powell will lead a Rapiergroup team to support the construction of exhibition stands and event experience at Sibos, as well as looking to support new clients in both the automotive and financial sectors.

Powell told C&IT: "I was attracted to Rapiergroup’s combination of experiential experiences across exhibitions, conferences and incentive travel. It is a unique experience for me to come into a company that has a track record and history of doing all of these kinds of events in house.

"At the moment, I will be leading a team of three people but we are looking to expand this as we grow and employ more people in project management roles."

Powell spent more than 15 years at Mayridge Group, delivering events for a range of clients, including BNP Paribas, Financial Times, Microsoft and JP Morgan.
