The new conference centre has secured outline planning permission from Newport City Council and architects are now finalising designs to submit for full planning approval. If successful, the centre will open summer 2018.
The images show how the 20,000sqm centre may look when it is constructed on the resort site.
It will have capacity for around 4,000 delegates, making it the largest facility of its kind in Wales and the south west of England. The main auditorium will hold 1,500 delegates with the flexibility to divide into smaller spaces, while the main exhibition hall will accommodate up to 2,000 guests for a gala dinner.
A further 15 meeting rooms will cater for a variety of smaller meetings and events and complement the existing convention centre facilities at Celtic Manor. Production offices, a multi-storey car park with 1,500 spaces and an outdoor plaza and terraces are also planned.
Celtic Manor Resort chief operating officer Ian Edwards said: "It is clear that the events industry shares our excitement about this new conference centre, which will be a flagship development not only for Celtic Manor, but for Wales as a whole. It will bring enormous economic benefits to the cities of Newport and Cardiff, and the wider surrounding region."
It is hoped the centre will help the resort secure more major events including show-piece conferences for large, international associations and multinational, blue-chip companies, as well as political party conferences.
