Perennial C&I favourite Singapore and the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh announced in December a partnership to masterplan and develop the state's new capital city.
The current joint capital city of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is Hyderabad (pictured). Telanga is India's 29th and newest state, carved out of Andhra Pradesh early in 2014. Hyderabad will be the common capital for the states for ten years until the new Andhra Pradesh capital city is created.
The new city will come up in the Guntur-Vijayawada region and is estimated to cost 1 trillion rupees (£10.56 billion).
While Singapore was voted in November as the best place in the world to do business, India is also experiencing its own 'remarkable' business travel boom. The country's total business travel spend will grow 9.2% next year to US $28.6bn (£18.1bn), according to the Global Business Travel Association.
