Flights will run from June 22 to September 26 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, using an 88-seat Embraer 175 aircraft.

William Pearson, Birmingham Airport’s aviation development director, said: "This picturesque seaside town in northwest France, known for its famous race course, harbour, sandy beaches and choice of luxurious hotels, is an excellent addition to Flybe’s network of flights from Birmingham."

Flybe will operate 26 routes from Birmingham in summer 2015 resulting in 339 flights a week. These will include an additional two new French routes to Bastia and Biarritz.

The airline will also operate a new summer service from Exeter to Deauville on Thursdays and Sundays in the summer months.

Emirates airline has also announced the launch of a new service from Birmingham Airport to Dubai International Airport, which will run from 1 August 2015. The operator will be the first to offer a direct first class service between Birmingham and Dubai and will increase passenger and cargo capacity on the route by 42%.
