EDF appointed Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) in January to manage its business travel requirements for the next four years following an extensive RFP process.
Home Retail Group, which owns Argos, Homebase, Habitat and Financial Services, hired HGA Creative in February for a series of events, including a conference and awards ceremony at Alton Towers.
In March, Dixons appointed the Fresh Group to deliver its annual Peak Event conference, which took place in November at the NEC Birmingham. Fresh secured the contract for the one-day event following a pitch against several agencies that lasted for more than four months.
Software provider VMWare appointed George P Johnson to help deliver vForum 2014, a series of 24 events throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. George P Johnson will provide logistics, sponsorship, production and infrastructure management for the events, whilst collaborating with local in-country agencies for on-site delivery.
In May, AOK Events won a tender to manage Santander UK's corporate hospitality programme for the next two years. The contract win will see AOK Events manage a range of events for the banking giant, including traditional and bespoke corporate hospitality events and golf days, as well as regional hospitality and sponsorship events.
Three appointed Zibrant LIVE in June on an exclusive two-year contract to deliver incentive programmes for the mobile network's UK and overseas employees.
In July, Ford appointed Grass Roots Meetings & Events to deliver logistics for the fleet launch of its forthcoming Focus and Mondeo vehicles. The agency also handled the logistics for Ford’s pan-European press launches for the two new models.
Law firm Clifford Chance appointed agency Eventful to deliver its global events programme, following a competitive pitch to deliver events in the UK and Europe, as well as international events outside Europe in 2016.
In September, The Black Tomato Agency was appointed by Diageo-owned brand Johnnie Walker to create a multi-sensory event in London for 500 guests. The event was a multi-sensory collaboration with Scotch whisky brand Johnnie Walker Blue Label, which took place at various venues in London for 500 of the company’s customers, clients and media.
Citroën appointed agency Crown to deliver the Citroën National Dealer Conference for 2015 after a competitive tender process. The event will be one of the first to be held at the revamped Birmingham National Indoor Arena (NIA), with up to 850 dealer representatives attending from across the UK.
In November, Clearwater Events beat off competition from nine other agencies to win the contract to stage national nursery chain BusyBees' staff awards ceremony for 300 guests in March 2015.
Earlier this month, Financial software company Intuit UK awarded Planet Pursuits a two-year event management contract to implement and manage a wide range of customer engagement and training events.
