The former URH Hotel Girona has undergone a refresh and is now operating as the DoubleTree by Hilton Girona under a franchise agreement with Hilton Worldwide. It will continue to be owned and operated by URH & Co. Hoteliers under the new leadership of general manager Pere Vila.

The 115-bedroom property boasts 202sqm of meeting and banqueting facilities accommodating up to 120 people across three flexible spaces, as well as a 24-hour complimentary business center and dedicated catering and events team.

It is located close to the city's Auditorium and Congress Centre, as well as other popular Girona attractions, including the historic Old Town and its Jewish Quarter, Girona Cathedral and the Arab Baths. Other features include a rooftop swimming pool and bar and six suites.

John Greenleaf, global head for DoubleTree by Hilton, said: "Guests at DoubleTree by Hilton Girona can look forward to experiencing the unique service culture that is at the heart of our growing portfolio of more than 50 upscale hotels in Europe, with DoubleTree by Hilton Girona marking our fourth property in Spain. Starting with the presentation of a warm chocolate chip cookie to every guest on arrival, visitors will see that we focus on delivering the little things that we believe make a huge difference to their stay."

Pere Vila, general manager, DoubleTree by Hilton Girona commented: "We are excited to welcome guests to the new DoubleTree by Hilton Girona. With a host of activities on the doorstep, including easy access to the 40km bicycle path connecting the spectacular beaches of the Costa Brava to the lower Pyrenees mountains and being just meters from award-winning restaurants, including El Celler de Can Roca, the hotel is a fantastic base to explore all that the city has to offer."
