The travel management company’s annual survey, completed by 1,113 travel managers at 515 companies in 56 countries, found respondents with a global remit think big data, the global economy and the International Air Transport Association’s new distribution capability will be the areas with a high impact.
CWT has launched a new interactive website to enable travel managers to benchmark, against the expectations of their peers, the level of impact of 11 trends on their travel programmes for 2015.
The survey identified regional differences in what people think will have an impact on their travel programmes: travel managers in Asia-Pacific ranked low-cost carriers higher than other regions, while those in Europe, the Middle East and Africa ranked corporate social responsibility as more of a significant trend than their counterparts.
Travel managers in Latin America recognised the global economy, political context and sharing economy as highly impactful trends, while respondents in North America thought mobile technology would have a major impact on their travel programmes.

This helps us focus our development on a range of innovative products and services to help our clients across the world make the most of their travel programmes, whatever their priorities are in 2015."
