Hotel operator Accor said the 229-room Pullman Sydney Airport will be "the first internationally branded 5-star hotel to service Sydney Airport."

The property will be located in a new commercial precinct to be developed on O'Riordan Street at Mascot, which will also include retail facilities.

Accor Pacific chief operating officer Simon McGrath said: "Airports are no longer considered transport hubs, they are transforming into complete entities where hotels, conference centres, retail and office spaces co-exist."

The hotel will also include a restaurant, bar and conference facilities and will be the first internationally branded five-star hotel in the international airport precinct.
