Wigley has fifteen years of sales, marketing and events experience, having worked for a range of high-profile companies, both in-house and agency-side, including The Football Association, Wembley Stadium, Coca-Cola, Hyundai and Southampton Football Club.

One of his first jobs at Top Banana, which rebranded in October, will be to develop, manage and deliver a new business development strategy within the agency.

Top Banana managing director Nick Terry, who was appointed to the board of EVCOM in June, said: "Top Banana has had a phenomenal year, delivering our most successful financial performance to date and the recruitment of Huw is testament to that, as well as our significant future growth ambitions for next year and 2020.

"Our London office continues to go from strength to strength and, as well as providing the benefits of being within a stone’s throw of our existing London-based clients, it also opens up a range of new business opportunities for us. The team there will benefit from Huw’s extensive experience in strategic, targeted business development."

Wigley added: "Top Banana is the only events company in the sector specialising in leadership-driven events and senior level, strategic communication. As a business development specialist, the opportunity to work with a company who are successfully carving out a new segment in this way was incredibly attractive.

"The culture at Top Banana sealed the deal. It’s a growing, successful company, yet there’s a strong sense of community and an entrepreneurial spirit."
