C&IT and sister title Event's inaugural Event 360 won the coveted Best Event Experience at the Professional Publishers Association's (PPA) Connect Awards on Tuesday evening (2 December). The same day, new pictures were released showing the interior of the much-anticipated Sky Garden on top of 20 Fenchurch Street in London.

The Churchill War Rooms hosted an evening of music and dancing last Thursday (27 November) to celebrate Winston Churchill's birthday. Guests were treated to a glass of Churchill's favourite Champagne from a pop-up bar, and were able to write a birthday message to Churchill and strike their best Churchill pose in a pop-up photobooth.

TRO took home seven awards, including the Event Agency of the Year and the Platinum award, from the Eventia Awards on Friday evening (28 November). Others winners included George P. Johnson, drp and Zibrant. The ceremony, held at London Hilton on Park Lane, was compared by comedian Ed Byrne and saw performances by the Valentinas, The Plague Dance Group, The Young Guns collective and Britain’s Got Talent Finalists Jack Pack.

Agency Smyle competed against six other companies to raise the most money for charity Wings for Life. The challenge was launched in February and came to a close last week. Between them the Smyle team swam 500m, baked 432 cakes, ran 263 kilometres, cycled 63 kilometres, painted 37 faces, wore nine silly outfits and did five ice bucket challenges, raising £15,000 – more than £400 per employee.

Finally, Audi UK brought together customer service employees, dealer principals, area managers, international executives and agency staff to ACC Liverpool last week for its annual National Forum. C&IT ran a gallery yesterday (4 December) illustrating what went on at the one-day event.
