Gilkerson will work with WRG’s account teams to support their relationships with procurement clients.
Gilkerson left W&O after the agency ceased trading in September when it failed to turn around the company’s prospects, having joined from Pfizer where he was responsible for the pharmaceutical behemoth’s procurement strategy for more than nine years.
Gilkerson said: "I am very excited to be working with an agency that has such a fantastic reputation of offering great live communications solutions.
"My job is to assure our clients that they can have absolute confidence in WRG as an agency that not only exceeds their expectations on delivery but that ensures that we are on point with compliance, cost savings and transparency.
"I will be working to build relationships with clients to ensure that we are adding value throughout the process and articulating and demonstrating this clearly."
WRG healthcare director Chris Gosling added: "A true expert in his field, Andrew brings his unique experience of working for one of the world’s leading healthcare companies to the team at WRG.
"We are thrilled to welcome him and look forward to maximising his event management and procurement background to further improve our offer within the healthcare sector."
