Foffani has previously held positions with the Milan offices of Saatchi & Saatchi and McCann Erickson, where he was head of strategic planning and sat on the board, and has most recently been working as an independent strategist.

He replaces Katie Streten, who has been promoted to head of consumer insight for Imagination EMEA.

Foffani brings with him a wealth of automotive experience, having worked with Chevrolet Europe, Renault, Toyota and Lexus. He is multilingual and fluent in Italian, English and Spanish and has co-authored a research paper on neuroscience.

David Girling, business head Ford EMEA at Imagination, said: "After a thorough search across Europe we have appointed Lorenzo because of his breadth of knowledge, specific strategy skills, his automotive experience and because he has a great personality."

Foffani commented: "I welcome the opportunity of joining Imagination and to be in London, the centre of the creative world. Imagination offers a broad set of communication channels that requires strategic input and I particularly look forward to making an impact on the Ford business in Europe."
