EIBTM 2014 kicked off this week (18 November) at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, which welcomed more than 15,000 meeting professionals from around the world, including more than 3,000 exhibitors from 150 countries. On the first day of the show, EIBTM revealed that it will be renamed IBTM World as part of a rebrand of the IBTM events portfolio.

Eurostar celebrated its 20th birthday this week (17-18 November) at the National Centre for Circus Arts in Hoxton, with 800 guests attending both days of the event.
Organised by Wonderland and the rail company's internal communications team, guests were treated to visual representations for destinations including Paris, Brussels, Lille, London, Marseille and Amsterdam. The Paris performance was themed around fashion and models, while the Amsterdam one featured a show from dancers in clogs.
Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) invited more than 75 travel buyers to its thought-leadership client event, CWT UK Exchange, at Royal Horseguards Hotel, London on Tuesday (18 November), which included keynote speeches from industry experts, breakout sessions and a panel debate.
The event was moderated by BBC Breakfast presenter Steph McGovern and speakers including Stephen Humphreys from British Airways and Travelport's Simon Ferguson.
