
In an interview published in the Belfast Telegraph this week, Gavaghan revealed that the chairman of Titanic Belfast, Pat Doherty, hoped to launch a luxury boutique hotel on the site. If his plans go ahead, Gavaghan added that the hotel would have 'Titanic' in its title, and would be a luxury boutique property with 84 rooms.
The idea of a casino has also been mooted in recent months, but political opposition to the move will need to be overcome, and a licence granted for a casino in Northern Ireland.
