Originally built in 1891, converted into a hotel in 1911, gutted in 2012 and finally reopened in 2014, Hotel Zoo is a true icon of Berlin.
The 145-room former townhouse is a member of Design Hotels and includes a roof terrace, winter garden and a 22-metre 'catwalk' carpet, adorned with black-and-white woven crouching leopards and leading to the Living Room, 'the heart and soul of the hotel'.
The destination Grace Bar is inspired by the venue's former speakeasy atmosphere, when it was the regular haunt for movie stars and politicians, and serves classic cocktails from the 1920s to 1950s. The signature Grace Restaurant is due to open in January 2015.
The main meeting room is 150sqm, with dark hardwood floors and pullout walls to create a variety of spaces – four in total. It has two balconies and a private entrance for VIP access.
