Starwood Hotels & Resorts, which this week began the roll out of its new mobile check-in service, has opened its second W property in China and 45th globally.

Situated in the Chinese capital's Diplomatic District, a hop from the Forbidden City, Silk Market and Tianenmen Square, W Beijing - Chang'an offers 349 rooms and all the state-of-the-art features associated with the W brand.

Some 1,500sqm of event facilities comprises seven spaces, the largest being the 518sqm Great Room, which can take 480 guests theatre-style or 300 for a banquet. The hotel even offers a 'Sensory Set Up', including mood music and signature scents.

Five restaurants and bars provide a range of options in a variety of atmospheres, from Cantonese fare in Yen and cocktails in the W Lounge to 'laidback indulgences' and DJ beats in the destination Living Room bar. Vibrantly decorated bedrooms include high-end amenities and an indoor pool, gym and spa complete the offer.
