EVCOM's Marco Forgione: welcomes Government annoucement

Sajid Jarvid MP, Minister of State for Culture, Media and Sport, spoke earlier this week at the opening of World Travel Market, where he told delegates that the Government planned to make the UK the number destination for global business events.

EVCOM has been asked to support the initiative to attract new international business to the UK and has already circulated the survey to all event industry members to help the ministry prepare the detail of the proposed strategy.

EVCOM chief executive Marco Forgione said: "The announcement by the Minister recognises the international importance of the UK’s creative communication sector. I am delighted that EVCOM has been invited to help support this important initiative. As the association representing the breadth of the UK’s creative communication sector, EVCOM has focused on promoting the value of the UK’s creative sector as a key driver in economic growth both in attracting inward investment and growing export markets."
